Ok guys. Her is one of my 1.00 foot stools I got at a thrift store. I am debating on using a felted wool sweater to cover it, or an awesome lime green vintage robe. All items bought at thrift store.

I will try to post the robe and sweater tomorrow. Tell me what you think.

The top of this comes off for storage.

I have had the design blahs. I need to snap out of it. I think this deep freeze weather in Ohio has frozen my brain.

I can get tons of ideas, but that is where it ends. I am stuck.

Starting Anew

It has been months and months since I have been on my own blog. Lots going on. I have had three surgeries since the end of July. I am doing well now, but it was a LONG six months. Plus during that time my brother has had to live with us. I think that will be changing soon, thankfully.

I plan to be back on here lots more. I am starting tons of new projects that I want to post and see what all you wonderful people think of.

Husband and surgery

My wonderful husband, Darren is having surgery in the morning. I think everything will be ok, but it will be some challenging food/eating/drinking issues in his recovery. It will be difficult. I hope I have the strength to help him, as he has so many times during my health issues.

Any and all good vibes and thoughts sent our way will be much appreciated.

Husband's Birthday

Well, it is the husband's birthday today. He is all of 46! Kind of makes me crazy sometimes. It keeps me on my toes, being so much older than him! I have to keep in shape.....keep the hair done...act like I am 46....not 57!

Geesh! We are getting at least eight more inches of snow today! I am really getting tired of it. I love snow, but good grief......enough already. None of it has melted over the last two weeks.....it just keeps piling up.

Owls......My New Addiction!

My daughter used to collect owls when she was a little girl. She had some beauties!

All the sudden I am HOOKED!

I found this awesome green metal owl at a thrift store. It has green "gem"eyes. You know I had to buy that one!

I have this little family near my kitchen sink.

Now you know what comes next...right? I have to come up with an owl pattern and cut out a piece of plywood. I see a big, beautiful jewelry owl in my future!

Let it Snow!

We are expecting close to a foot of snow here in central Ohio today! Great weekend to be snowed in. Maybe I will actually get some art or jewelry....or purses......or something done!

Bad part, I have to do a two day "prep" for a colonoscopy Monday.....yikes!

I have been dreading it for awhile now. I guess maybe being snowed in will help.

New Venture in Felting

I have been so very busy with my sick father-in-law. But I feel the need to create! So, I gathered some old wool sweaters and scarves. I am going to try my hand at felting. I figured it would be hard to mess this up. My hope is to throw them in the washer and end up with some great felted fabric to work with at some point.

Wish me luck! Since I am "trying" to ruin sweaters, it probably won't work.

Wow.......I finally got a few new pieces in my Etsy shop.

It has been a struggle to get anything done this summer. Took three weeks to get new furnace and A/C installed. Vacation.......got sick awhile. Just glad to get a few pieces in there.

I am working on neck warmers now. In August......great, huh? Got that new air conditioning...guess I figured I could crochet!

Creating by Brewing Beer!

Just wanted to share some good news. My husband and I entered our Milk Stout Beer in the Ohio State Fair Home Brew competition. We got the results Friday. We got a silver medal in the stout category. There were 26 entries in that category. There were 335 entries in all. That is an all time high for entries.

Not big on tooting my own horn, but we are pretty proud!

Been SO Busy!

I have been on two short vacations in May. One was to New York Institute of Technology for my daughter's graduation. She got her masters degree, after all these years. I am so proud of her! Got to see New York City for the first time! How exciting that was.

Then my husband and I went on a short three day trip last week. I am tired of vacation! How dumb is that?

I have been working on my work spaces for weeks. Reorganizing EVERYTHING I own. What a monumental task! I have three rooms I use, and more stuff than you can imagine. As soon as I get my camera back from my brother, I will put up some pictures. I can't wait to get it all done. Now that I am home, I might get it finished!

Painted Some Jewelry

I finally dug out some old wooden jewelry to paint. I separated the big hoops and made two different pairs of earrings from them.

The paper clay pieces, I am still working on. I haven't done anything but prime the wooden bangle. I will work on those this weekend, hopefully.

The hoops I splatter painted. The top part of the old hoops I used to make another pair of earrings. I painted them robin's egg blue. Then I used sparkly nail polish on them. I used parts of a funky old necklace that looked like blue bananas for the dangles.

I like both pairs!

Cleaned the Workspace!!

I am so happy! I got my work area newly organized, cleaned........ready to go! I am so very ready to start creating something........anything.

I just got back from a small vacation with my daughter and grandsons. We went to Georgia. It was colder than in Ohio. I got my taxes done, finally......that was doing me in. My father-in-law is doing pretty well on his chemo.......all is pretty good at the moment. I have no excuses for not getting something done.

My biggest problem now is what to start with......jewelry......painting.....sewing?

I will post something soon about "some" project. All you wonderful, artistic people keep me inspired at all times. Thanks so much.

I haven't been here to talk in awhile. I miss it.

I have a very sick father-in-law, so I won't be here much for awhile. If anyone has any great, inspiring ideas that I can "think" about while I am at the hospital, let me know. My brain never shuts off, for sure.

I tried to get the butcher paper the other day, but couldn't find it. So, I am still thinking about that. I will try to at least check in once and awhile till the crisis passes.

Any good creative ideas you guys have, gives me something to think about.

Butcher Paper

Has anyone ever done any printing or painting on butcher paper. I have some ideas, but didn't want to invest 20.00 on a huge roll of paper until I was sure if it was good to work with.

Creative Clutter or Chaos?

I have come to the conclusion this week that being able to create is a delicate balance between the clutter that I just seem to need in order to create, and the chaos that seems to take over at times.

Am I the only one that way? I don't seem to be able to have a really clean surface/area to work in. I need my "things" around me. But then it can easily turn on me. I am SURROUNDED by my things! They want to overtake me.

When I have the perfect balance, all is well. I can think and move forward.....maybe even create something. Out of balance.........ick. I just sit there and look at the mess.

Please tell me I am not the only person that cannot create in a neat, tidy work space.

I was talking with Mary. She wanted to see a picture of my Christmas tree done in Jewelry. So, I thought I would try to post a few pictures of the tree, a teapot, a snowman and a heart.

Lots and lots of jewelry used on these! The tree is close to 24" tall.

I want to talk jewelry. What is the most unusual thing you have ever made jewelry from? I have used branches, plumbing washers, erector set parts, paper and clay.

I am always looking for new ideas. Sometimes, the crazier it is, the better I like it.
